From Vietnam, Burma, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Indonesia where they live in underground burrows in dry, open scrub brush habitats. It is reported that this species lives in large, underground colonies and that pairs are monogamous. Males are more colorful, have prominent femoral pores and small hemipenal bulges.
